Works on Paper

Lingering Summer Acrylic on paper

I absolutely love working on paper; there’s something about how the paper absorbs the paint and the way I can manipulate it that feels unique compared to any other surface. It’s exciting to set aside time and focus on a collection exclusively featuring works on paper.

But what exactly are works on paper? They’re simply paintings that use paper as the canvas. I work with Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media paper, a high-quality, acid-free paper with a weight of 184lb. I use professional-grade paints (Windsor & Newton acrylics) and seal each piece with Gamvar Gloss by Gamblin, ensuring the artwork is crafted to last for generations.

One of the great perks of works on paper is that by offering them unframed and unmounted, I can pass the savings directly to my clients. This also gives buyers the freedom to frame or mount the piece in a way that best suits their style and space. It allows for customization based on your taste, budget, and timeline.

So why now? I’m gearing up for my third year at the Spotlight on Art show in January 2025, and I want to bring a fresh and exciting collection. By focusing on works on paper, I can also release some of these pieces in my shop before the end of 2024, offering new work for my collectors.
